Overview
As part of the Discovery phase, we identify your target audience and the easiest way to validate their initial and ongoing eligibility. Our standard installation is meant for adults residing in the USA and/or Canada but we work with you to determine your exact requirements. You also get to choose if members can invite others to join and benefit from the community.
There’s no “magic number” as it really depends on your goals, the size of the audience you’re trying to reach to grow your community and the sustainable value of the peer support you want to offer. For example, a community focused on a rare health condition would have a smaller audience than one for overall health and wellbeing but both would have great potential value and benefits. Want to explore further? We can certainly provide some quick recommendations as part of an initial assessment so contact us.
We’ll work with you to get to market in under six months. For how we build your community with you, check out our platform and services.
Yes, and this can become a win-win situation! We’ll help you identify the ideal type of professionals who can bring additional value to the community and help with their onboarding and engagement.
As a first step, look at our Relate community overview. It’s an excellent option for small to mid-sized organizations that might not otherwise benefit from peer health support. If you’re still interested in a white-labeled community, get in touch and let’s explore the options!
Absolutely! If you’re in the USA or Canada, learn more about our Relate community.
We have an initial setup fee, and then there’s a monthly charge based on the number of individuals that are eligible to join.
While our services include community management, if you have a team that already has the experience or will build a team as your community grows, we can provide training and take on a consultant role.
Setup / Configuration
Yes! Our platform can be configured for single or multiple roles. In the case of multiple roles, members choose the main reason that brings them to the community – i.e. for their own health needs, as an informal caregiver, or as a family member. The community can also be focused on a chronic condition or overall mental and physical health. We built the platform with flexibility and use the Discovery phase to help you make informed choices.
With your own branded community, your initial options include single sign-on and the use of our APIs to streamline the registration process and/or integrate the community into your own app. We’ll also assess other ways to integrate with your existing platform, such as cross-promotion activities. Yes! You can have a community just for caregivers. We have built the platform to cater to single or multiple roles depending on your audience and goals. Let’s talk!

Building Community
Members can join the different forum topic discussions, blog about their health journey, find credible resources, create their own private Close Circle, chat or message other members. We offer a feature-rich experience because we understand that not everyone likes to connect and share in the same way. Learn more about our platform and services.
The recommended topics will evolve from the Discovery phase as we learn more about your goals for the community and the interests of your target audience.
Before launch, we work with you to understand what topics you’re concerned about and establish the appropriate boundaries. Then we use our automated tools and experienced team to proactively monitor and guide the conversations to keep them on track and in line with the community guidelines and policies.
We proactively monitor interactions using our automated moderation tools and experienced team to ensure members are respectful and adhere to the community guidelines, terms and policies. We also enable members to report inappropriate content and behavior.
Many factors will impact how frequently members use the community when caring for themselves or their families. As described in our approach, a health journey isn’t linear or the same for everyone. You can’t predict what will trigger the need for peer support, but you can have the community ready and waiting for when the need arises. Often, just knowing this support is available through awareness and communication, you can offer a level of confidence and peace of mind.
We offer an outreach communication toolkit with templates that can be adapted and incorporated into the existing ways you communicate with your target audience. Need more help? We can offer you additional communication services – strategy, design, content and implementation.
As described in our approach, members interact with each other using display names. Doing so provides a better comfort level for sharing experiences, given the anonymity, but members always remain in control of how much information they share about themselves in the community.
We understand the importance of ensuring members feel comfortable, safe and a part of the community. We enable anonymity with the use of display names, and our platform is built with HIPAA-compliant and personal data privacy protections. We also have strict user terms and policies, proactive monitoring tools, and the ability for members to report concerns about a member’s behavior or wellbeing.
We’ve spent over 16 years building communities.
